| |

By Brent Sweet

I think articles are probably the easiest cheapest form of marketing on the internet. To begin with they are free to post on as many directories as you can. There are people who actually read articles, plus webmasters publish them as content. They lend credibility to you and your business. The key factor to getting benefits from writing an article is to make sure it shares good information and is not a sales pitch.

Here are a few benefits to article marketing:

Online Business Credibility " Providing information to your readers through articles shows people you know about your field or industry. This builds your reputation and raises awareness of your brand. The result of this is that people trust your products, or recommendations if you are an affiliate marketer.

You get inbound links - Most professional SEOs use article marketing as a way to push their clients sites to the top of the search engines. The way this is done is through the resource box. This is the box that as at the end of all articles in directories on the internet. This box contains information about you, your site as well as a link. As webmasters across the internet publish the article they have to leave the resource box on there, which creates a one way relevant link to your site.

Better Search Engine Rankings - As you get published and the one way links increase to your site, you will see yourself in a better position on the search engines. The most important thing to do to make sure you get a good position is to use the right anchor text on your link in your resource box.

The proof that your article was published:

I want to restate that the most important thing is that you write an informative article, not a pitch. If you want proof of your marketing and how often your article is published, just search for the title in quotes on the major search engines. This will tell you how many times it was published. Make sure you do this about 1-2 months after submitting or you won't see all the results. Webmasters are more likely to publish informative articles, not sales pitches.

You will see that even only after submitting to a few websites your articles have numerous results. Several other online businesses publish articles for content on their site.

If you ever hire someone to do search engine optimization they will give you a report of submissions. Some of these services either submit one article for a flat fee, or as part of a subscription will submit multiple articles. You should go out right now and find these services, it is time to get your business noticed.
