You would be hard pressed to find someone involved in internet marketing who has never heard of Mike Dillard. He is the creator of Magnetic Sponsoring, MLM Traffic Formula, Black Belt Recruiting and other programs. These are all top training tools that teach people to be highly succcessful at network marketing. So it's no wonder that many people wished they were Mike Dillard.
If you are not involved in internet marketing, then go ahead and replace his name with the name of a top earning person in the business you are in. I expect we would end up with a long list of very successful people, in varying types of businesses.
For the sake of argument though, let's just assume that it's Mike Dillard that we all want to be. The first question to ask ourselves is why do we want to be him? What is there about him that would make us willing to give up our own identity? The obvious first thing would be that he is super successful and he is making buckets of money. He is also a person of integrity, well respected and liked and has a huge following.
Let's think about this a little further. Just imagine if we were all clones of Mike Dillard. No disrespect to Mike, but what a boring world that would be. As human beings, we actually thrive on variety. Just think of your closest friends. No doubt each one of them has a unique personality and that's one of the reasons why you were drawn to them.
Really, on closer examination, it's not Mike Dillard that we want to be. We actually love being ourselves. What we do want, is to have what Mike has and not to be him personally.
So we can continue to be ourselves, developing our own unique personality, and still have the things that Mike has. You might wonder how this is possible. Well, it's possible because these people that we admire, for the most part, are willing to share their life experiences with others. Occasionally, there might be a financial cost to acquiring this knowledge but if you do a little research, you will find that most of these people are very generous in sharing freely. They enjoy giving back to society. At one time they were sitting in the same spot as we are today. They don't forget those days.
They can't do it for you, but they can show you the way!
It has been said that there are numerous people out there just waiting to meet us. We all know that we are attracted to certain people and not to others. That is because we are not all on the same 'wavelength', and that's a good thing. We are going to be the person that some individual really relates to. Just imagine you and Mike standing side by side and the person chooses you over Mike.
So let's not waste our time dreaming about being someone other than the person we are. Let's continue to develop our own unique identity and similar people will be drawn to us, because we will strike a chord with them. That doesn't mean that we can't learn everything we possibly can from people that have reached the level of success that we are striving for. Learn their methods and integrate them into your life and business.
I am a firm believer in the Law of Abundance, which states that there is more than enough to go around for everyone, so go ahead, be yourself and step right up and claim your 'piece of the pie'.
